MARKET by kleine fabriek: Surprisingly international

MARKET by kleine fabriek’ is at the top of the European children’s fashion calendar this winter; another reason for international visitors to come to creative Amsterdam.

That makes it even more rewarding for all Dutch brands, shops, media and stylists to attend the event.

Suprisingly international

Did you know that on average, a quarter of all visitors to MARKET by kleine fabriek come from abroad? Professionals from all over Europe, but also Russia, Japan, the US and Australia, make a special trip to Amsterdam to spot the coolest brands. Amsterdam is not only an ideal location in a geographical sense; we are also a source of inspiration, especially for the international creative community.

The selection at MARKET by kleine fabriek is just as international: For example, the irresistible toy- and school accessory brand Crocodile Creek and the equally beautifully illustrated eco-toy brand Krooom both come from the United States. And in Iceland’s children’s fashion label Iglo+Indi, we immediately recognise the priority they place on the most attractive hand-made illustrations and sustainable materials.

Scandinavia is always well-represented at MARKET, with the successful sports brand Hummel, the artisanal shoemaker Angulus, and Nordic style kids labels such as Knast by Knutter, Popupshop, Petit by Sofie Schnoor, the androgynous The Fifth Child Clothing and of course Molo Kids and MarMar Copenhagen from Denmark or the tough favourite I dig Denim from Sweden.

The British are also in attendance, with adorable toys by Lapin and Me, the cool ‘gender neutral’ fashion label Shapes of Things and Cribstar, the baby & kids knitwear label The Bonniemob, and Turtledove London’s organic collection.

France makes another tasteful contribution, for example with Zadig & Voltaire, Little Eleven Paris and Leoca Paris, and especially 3 Pommes from Normandy. There are also many French names among the shoe brands, such as sneakers by Veja and Faguo, the cute rain boots by Boxbo and EZPZ (Easy Peasy) for the littlest fashionistas.

Italy is of course in da house - we have already written a great deal about the debut kids label Margherita Missoni - as is Spain (Petit Oh!, Picnik) and not to forget Belgium (ao76, Bellerose, Someone Kids, Les Reves d’Anais and Bonjour Maurice).

Powerfully national

Our foreign colleagues know all too well what a powerful children’s fashion centre the Netherlands is; everyone and everything for every season comes together at MARKET by kleine fabriek. Major Dutch names like Anne-Claire Petit, with her iconic knit toys and accessories, the world-famous wooden ‘gnome planks’ by Kapla and of course your favourite children’s fashion labels Nono, Mees, Indian Bluejeans, Moodstreet, Haas and Noeser to Barts, Bergstein, Z8, Tygo & Vito and Petrol. But there will also be plenty of newer names to discover, such as Gosoaky, with the coolest rainwear for kids, or Little Indians, and Mies & Co for our mini-hipsters. And have you already met the new best friends from Olli & Jeujeu?
