baby&junior: Momcozy has grown into more than 80 countries and regions in a short period of time. How do you decide which European countries are next, and why?

Sven Hering: We select European markets based on where Momcozy can best meet the needs of modern families and build sustainable demand. We assess birth rates, feeding habits, purchasing power, consumer needs, openness to innovation, and e-commerce and omnichannel strength. Our existing European performance helps identify where products resonate and channels are developing. Ultimately, we prioritise markets offering strong long-term potential and value.

baby&junior: How do you ensure that specialised retail, large chains, and online channels do not interfere with one another, but rather cooperate effectively?

Sven Hering: Our retailer strategy is based on clear roles, a coordinated assortment, and channel-specific marketing. Specialised baby retail provides personal advice, trust, and product experience; consumer electronics reaches tech-oriented shoppers, while Amazon primarily serves consumers who prefer online purchasing. We consider each partner’s strengths and target groups, aiming for a balanced omnichannel model that delivers value and sustainable growth for Momcozy and its retail partners.

baby&junior: At the Kind + Jugend trade show, Momcozy is presenting new products such as the “W1 Breast Pump” the “D8 Bottle Washer” and the “BM08 Baby Monitor”. What does it take to ensure that new technology in the baby sector is well-explained both in-store and online, and that it actually sells?

Sven Hering: For new technologies to succeed, Momcozy focuses first on the needs of mothers, parents, and babies. Innovation must deliver clear, tangible benefits by making everyday life simpler, more comfortable, and efficient. Across retail and online channels, clear communication, product demonstrations, and intuitive experiences build trust. Our goal is to integrate meaningful innovation into the Momcozy ecosystem and make family life easier. Ultimately, every innovation should answer one question: How can we make life easier, more comfortable, and better for mothers – and, as a result, for parents and babies?

baby&junior: How do you determine whether a product will be a hit after its launch in Europe? Which metrics are decisive (e.g., sales, returns, complaints, retailer demand)?

Sven Hering: For us, product success goes beyond revenue. We assess sell-out, sales velocity, retailer reorders, demand after launch, returns, reviews, customer feedback, and channel performance. Reorders are especially important as they indicate sustainable consumer demand. We also consider ecosystem potential and allow innovative products time to establish. Ultimately, success means creating real value for families and driving sustainable, long-term growth.
