Collaboration with Raddis® Cotton

Since 2022, Lässig has been working with Raddis® Cotton to champion the cause of sustainable and regenerative cotton cultivation in southeast India. A small swaddle collection has been produced from the cotton.

Currently, only 1% of cotton worldwide is organically produced. For this reason, Lässig is actively committed to using organic cotton from certified cultivation. With the aid of Raddis® Cotton, the company is also investing over the long term in regenerative, organic agriculture that will promote a healthy ecosystem. Regenerative agriculture improves the livelihoods of farming families, restores the health of the soil and promotes biodiversity. The soft cheesecloths consist of 100% breathable, easy-care, pre-washed cotton and are available in packs of 2 in a cotton pouch. The pack contains one single-colour cheesecloth dyed with natural vegetable dyes, and one cheesecloth printed in a tribal or dotted design created by artists in southern India.

Through the cotton harvest, Lässig has already done a lot of good with its swaddle production: some ten hectares of land have been converted to regenerative use for the company, 60 tonnes of CO2 have been absorbed from the atmosphere, 31 million litres of water saved and the use of 12 kg of chemical pesticides, as well as 2743 kg of synthetic fertiliser, avoided. And the incomes of 13 farmers’ families have increased by 30%.
